WORCESTER, Mass., July 10, 2007 — Fallon Clinic and the City of Worcester
today announced the completion of the Kendrick Pool House renovation.
Fallon Clinic lent employee volunteers, and gave $10,000 through its charitable
arm, Fallon Clinic Foundation, for this long-desired public works project. The George
F. and Sybil H. Fuller Foundation also contributed $10,000 to the project. The City
of Worcester has contributed hours of employee service, matching dollars, and logistical
support as well.
“Fallon Clinic is delighted to see the completion of this great public works
project,” said Dr. Stephen Pezzella, Acting President and CEO of Fallon Clinic.
“Our partnership with the City of Worcester and The George F. and Sybil H.
Fuller Foundation has resulted in improvements to the Kendrick Pool House that will
benefit hundreds of children and families.”
The Kendrick Pool House at Kendrick Field on Brooks Street in Worcester, falls just
outside the local Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) area, making the park
ineligible for federal funds. The donation of private funds and volunteer time paid
for updated bath facilities, including new toilets, bathroom partitions, plumbing,
and painting both inside and out, at the facility.
“Fallon Clinic has been a caring community partner for many years,”
said Bob Moylan, Worcester’s Commissioner of Public Works. “The donation
of funds and volunteers for the Kendrick Pool House project help to make Worcester
a safer, healthier, happier place to live.”
